Naveran Cave Brut Nature 2018 - Penedes, Spain
Varietals: Macabeo, Parellada, Chardonnay, and Xarel-lo
Pale green-tinged yellow. A suave, highly perfumed bouquet evokes fresh citrus and orchard fruits and pungent flowers, and a suave floral note builds in the glass. Silky and penetrating on the palate, offering intense Meyer lemon and green apple flavors that deepen on the back half. The floral quality repeats on a long, nervy finish that shows very good clarity and final bite
Naveran is the surname of a family dedicated to cultivating its vineyards and producing its own artisanal wines and cavas. Its cellars are located in the estate of Can Parellada (Torrelavit), in the center of the Alt Penedés. The fact that it’s run by grape growers and wine producers, allowing them to be intimately involved in the cultivation and production process, to oversee the growth and quality of the grapes and to create innovative cuttings of their own vines, sets this winery apart from the majority of wineries in this region.
Faithfully following the artisanal tradition of their forebears, they care for the growth and quality of the vine with personal attention being given to the grape clusters, thus guaranteeing a perfect state of ripeness. In their continuous search for excellence, they also strive for innovation.
Because of the estate’s unique physical geography, defined by natural unevenness and dominated by slightly inclined slopes, the vines develop favorably, bathed in a sunny glow most of the day.
Can Parellada, one of the largest properties in the Alt Penedés, totals 110 hectares. It includes a large family home and various other buildings that hold cellars, underground storage areas for aging the wine, and warehouses with their products.
