McPherson Wine Company ''MWC'' Pinot Noir 2017 - Victoria, Australia
Varietals: 100% Pinot Noir
The aroma is enticing with intense plum, cherry and strawberry fruit with a hint of spicy oak. The fresh fruit momentum continues on the palate with vibrant plum and dark stone fruits finishing with some firm acid, beautiful tannins and integrated oak. Great match with roast duck, rabbit and other game meats, or medium intensity dishes like porcini mushroom risotto or fine cheese.
McPherson Wines had its beginnings in 1968. Andrew's father, Jock McPherson, worked in wineries in the early days of the industry in New South Wales. From him he learned the joys of winemaking, along with an honors degree in the use of colorful language. In 1974 Andrew began winemaking in his own right and has spent his working life to date in the wine industry.
In 1993 Andrew established vineyard holdings in the Murray Darling region near Mildura. This region principally surrounds the mighty Murray River, the source of much Australian folklore due to its beauty and majesty. Andrew had his eye on the red brick soil of the Goulburn Valley in Central Victoria and acquired 350 acres which offered great promise for cool climate red wines which today are used to grow the grapes for the Chapter Three and Basilisk wines.
In early 2000, McPherson Wines opened its world class bottling facility in Victoria. Located next to the winery just outside the town of Nagambie in Central Victoria, we bottle our own wines along with premium wines from wineries all over Victoria.
