Varietals: 75% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc
Harmoniously blended to create a deep ruby colored wine. The nose offers up aromas of strawberry, raspberry, and blackcurrant from the Merlot and licorice, green peppers and spice from the Cabernet Sauvignon. With its aromatic finesse and velvety tannins this wine is sure to be a favorite. Pairs well with strong cheeses, pastas with red sauces, beef, and chocolate.
Jean, Joel Duffau’s father, created his estate in 1965 called les Arromans. He made up private individual customers. Joel’s grandfather was a precursor in 1928 of the direct to customer sale. The estate grew on 30 hectares in Moulon village. In 1998, Jean and Sylvette retired and shared their vineyard, winery and customers between the 2 brothers: Joel and Eric. Joel took over 14 hectares in vineyard rental system to his parents and the winery. Since 1999, the 2 Chateaux are vinified in the winery of les Arromans. Specific works: viticulture in the aim to respect the environment (integrated fight); traditional techniques (planting grass, disbudding, mechanic thinning out the leaves); vines planting at 5 000 stocks per hectare. Harvest: mechanical with a new harvesting machine each year. Objectives: produce vintage of quality thanks to the work in the vineyard like in the cellar; optimize the Terroir’s potential and the production costs; keep concerned about the protection of the environment.
